Buddha Tooth Relic Temple And Museum

Buddha's Tooth and Pagoda

Singapore Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is a Tang-style Buddhist temple located in Chinatown, the Niu Che Shui area, famous for its collection of Buddha's tooth relics and numerous Buddhist artifacts. The temple is a treasure trove of modern Buddhist art, with the Hundred Dragons Hall, the Sacred Light Hall, and the Museum of Buddhist Culture.

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum 佛牙寺龙华院 was established in 2007 and is located in the well-known Niu Che Shui, the Singapore Chinatown.

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is different from ordinary temples in that it has only one four-story independent building with a strong Chinese Tang Dynasty Architecture Style appearance.

The main hall of the temple is located on the first floor and is called Hundred Dragons Hall, named after the dragon-shaped decorations on the walls and the ceiling.

The Buddha’s Tooth Relic, the treasure of the temple, is said to have been found in India and is housed in the inner chamber of the Sacred Light Hall on the fourth floor. The Buddha Tooth Relic is stored in a 3,500-kilogram pagoda, decorated by various jewels and gems.

The roof garden of the temple is planted with orchids and greenery, and hidden among the flowers is a Ten Thousand Buddhas Pagoda. In the center of the pagoda, there is a large Vairocana Buddha Prayer Wheel and 11,111 statues of Buddha on the four walls.

There is also a Buddhist Culture Museum and Eminent Sangha Museum for other Buddhist artifacts collected in the temple.
