The Kyushu region of Japan is generally defined as the seven prefectures of Fukuoka, Oita, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Saga, Nagasaki, and Kagoshima on the island of Kyushu, and Okinawa in the Pacific Ocean. It has been the most important window for trade and cultural exchange between Japan and the outside world since ancient times.

Kagoshima City also remains many historical sites associated with them.

    Legends Of Michizane
    Dazaifu is a historic city in central Fukuoka Prefecture, located only 10 kilometers away from the downtown of Fukuoka City. Dazaifu was once the political and military center of the Kyushu region, and in 901 A.D., Sugawara no Michizane (菅原道真) was exiled here. Dazaifu is famous for its historical sights, including the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
