Nanjing is a county under the jurisdiction of Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, it is famous for its Tianlokeng Tulou Cluster, with the nickname “four dishes and one soup”.
Tianlokeng Tulou Cluster consists of one square, three circular and one oval Tulous, which are close to each other, as if a plum blossom shape from the mountain overlooking. They also look like banquet dishes, people nicknamed them “four dishes and one soup”.
Four Dishes and One Soup
The Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster consists of one square and four round shaped Tulous, which are named Buyun, Hechang, Ruiyun, Wenchang and Zhenchang. Due to the unique shape and layout, they were also given the nickname "four dishes and one soup".
Most of Nanjing Tulous are village-based, each village has several or even dozens of Tulous of various appearances. Among them, Taxia Village, Yunshuiyao (formerly Changjiao Village) is more famous.
