Taichung (台中) is located in the central-western part of Taiwan, it is the third largest city on the island and has a mild climate throughout the year, and was once rated as the most livable city in Taiwan.

Taichung not only has a pleasant climate and a clean city, but also a number of colleges and universities, as well as comprehensive exhibition halls such as the National Museum of Natural Science (臺灣自然科學博物館) and National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (臺灣美術館). In addition, Taichung is home to the Confucius Temple (台中孔廟) and hosts the annual Confucius Ceremony (祭孔大典).

Shopping and Leisure in Taichung

The night market culture is deeply rooted in every corner of Taiwan, and Taichung is no exception. Feng Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市) is the most famous night market in Taichung, located next to Feng Chia University (逢甲大學). Every evening, the market is crowded with students and tourists from all over the world, enjoying cheap and tasty snacks such as “Taiwanese sausage with sticky rice (大腸包小腸)” and “small octopus balls (章魚小丸子)”.
