Tohoku region is located in the northern part of Japan’s Honshu Island, across the Tsugaru Strait from Hokkaido to the north. The region includes six prefectures of Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima, and is rich in agricultural and fishery products.
