Life among Bridges and Alleys
Xitang is an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River under the jurisdiction of Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, where was the junction of Wu and Yue in ancient times, thus it is also known as “Wu Root and Yue Corner”.
Xitang has “Three-most”: most bridges, most lanes, and most corridors. Xitang’s waterways are crossed by dozens of bridges of different eras, the oldest Wang Xian Bridge was built in the Song Dynasty. Xitang’s Lanes are the town’s blood veins, each has its own story. Every Xitang shop is equipped with a shelter from the wind and rain in front of the porch, compositing a very spectacular scene.
