Colorful Riverside Pubs
Originally a small pier for loading and unloading goods along the Singapore River, Clarke Quay has become one of the most famous commercial districts in Singapore. After nightfall, people gather at Clarke Quay to taste the world's cuisines and party all night long in the nightclubs and bars.
Along the Singapore River is Clarke Quay, named after the second Governor, Andrew Clarke. It was just a small pier for loading and unloading goods, but now it has become one of the Most Famous Commercial Districts in Singapore.
Every day after nightfall, the Colorful Shophouses and Cruise Ships along the Singapore River are the most vivid signs of Clarke Quay. Besides original Bak kut teh, you can also enjoy Food From Around the World such as ramen, hot pot, steak, and seafood at Clarke Quay. Of course, more people come here to relax and unwind at the nightclubs and bars.
Manywhere Trivia:
An important reason for people coming to Clarke Quay is Singapore’s strict ban on alcoholic beverages, which prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages from 22:30 to 7:00 every day and prohibits citizens from drinking in public places during this time. But in Clarke Quay, sales of alcohol are allowed until 3:00 am.
After you’ve had your fill, you can just wander around Clarke Quay Central shopping mall, or find the nearby Boat Pier and take a boat ride along the Singapore River to experience the charm of old Singapore.
