The English Garden of Munich has been kept as natural as possible, except for the Monopteros at the top of the hill and the Five-story Wooden Chinese Tower and other iconic landmarks. The beer garden at the foot of the Chinese Tower (Chinesischer Turm) has been open since 1789 and has seating for 7,000 people, making it Munich's Most Famous Beer Garden.

River Surfers

The locals see the English Garden as a great Place for Fitness and Leisure, where people are playing soccer, throwing Frisbees, and flying kites on the big lawn everywhere. They even found a place in the park where the river runs fast enough for River Surfing.
