Lake of Maidens with Clear Blue Water
Lake Saiko is located west of Kawaguchi Lake and covers an area of about 2 square kilometers. The lake is also known as the Maiden Lake because of its clear, azure water. Embraced by mountains on three sides, the Lake Saiko features surrounding dense forests, and sights nearby such as the Fugaku Wind Cave, the Bat Cave, and Aokigahara Jukai Forest.
Lake Saiko 西湖 is located 1.5 kilometers west of Kawaguchiko Lake and has a surface area of about 2 square kilometers. The lake is also known as the Maiden Lake because of its clear, azure water.
Lake Saiko is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the lush forests around the lake are endless, especially the primeval Aokigahara Jukai Forest 青木ヶ原 in the west, which stretches to the foot of Mount Fuji. Surrounded by mountains, the Saiko Lake Fuji View is a little less impressive than that of Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako.

The nearby Aokigahara Sea of Trees is also known as the Suicide Forest, and if you’re brave enough to explore the area, you might accidentally stumble upon dead bodies.
Lake Saiko is currently less developed than her sisters of the Fuji Five Lakes, but many campgrounds and RV sites have opened around, which are popular with many Road Tourists and Camping Enthusiasts. Near Lake Saiko are also natural lava cave landscapes such as the Fugaku Wind Cave 富岳風穴, the Narusawa Ice Cave 鳴沢氷穴, and the Lake Saiko Bat Cave.
