Lisbon Commerce Square

Seaside City Square

Commerce Square, adjacent to the mouth of the Tagus River in Lisbon, has a statue of King José I on horseback in the center, with a view of the April 25 Bridge and the statue of the Christ the Redeemer across the sea. Walking through the Rua Augusta Arch in the north of the square, you will reach the most bustling commercial zone of Lisbon.

Commerce Square or Praça do Comércio, adjacent to the mouth of the Tagus River (Tejo), is Lisbon's Most Beautiful City Square. It was once the king’s palace during the age of Portuguese discovery, and was transformed into a town square when it was rebuilt after the earthquake.

A King José I on Horseback stands in the center of the commerce square, which is surrounded by a U-shaped building complex of restaurants, tourist centers, and government offices. No matter where you are, the Rua Augusta Arch on the north side will be the center of your eyes, and through the gate is Augusta Street, Lisbon’s busiest commercial district.
