It's Show Time
The main story of Cyberpunk 2077 is not long, and there are more than five different endings depending on V's choices in the game. This article will provide a 360 panoramic VR walkthrough of each famous scene in Cyberpunk 2077 storylines and endings.
(This article contains serious spoilers)
Year 2077, Night City.
At the beginning of the game, the player is given the options for the origin of V (Corporate, Street Kid, and Nomad). The different origins lead to separate narratives which do not affect the main storyline or the endings.
Dexter DeShawn, a notorious fixer in Night City, offers V, Jackie Wells, and T-Bug a Special Mission: infiltrating Yorinobu Arasaka’s suite to steal the biochip Relic. “Would you rather live in peace as Mr. Nobody, or go down for all times in a blaze of glory?” Of course they chose the latter.
When V and Jack managed to infiltrate the Konpeki Plaza, they happened to witness Yorinobu Arasaka Murdered His Father. The death of Saburo Arasaka is like throwing a stone into the seemingly quite waters of Night City, breaking the balance and summoning a storm.
V and Jackie were caught in the vortex of war. Fleeing from the Konpeki Plaza, Jackie Died Unfortunately. In order to fulfill Jackie’s last wish, V inserted the Relic biochip into his own body.
V survived and went back to Dexter’s, awaited by a bullet in the head.
V’s eyes opened after a long darkness, it was the year 2023.
With the cheers of fans, the legend of Night City, Johnny Silverhand, took the stage. This concert is just a part of the rock star’s revenge plan. After the show, Johnny and Rogue boarded an armed helicopter and began their Assault on Arasaka Tower.
But Rogue never thought this was the last time they fought together.
V crawled out of the garbage pile with all the strength left, the first person he saw was Saburo Arasaka’s personal bodyguard, Goro Takemura. Takemura learned the truth of the murder and vows for a payback for his master. He assisted V Escape from Yorinobu and drew up a battle plan.
Although V temporarily survived the danger, the Relic chip in his body eroded his nervous system little by little. What disturbs him even more is that the digital soul of Johnny Silverhand kept in this biochip actually appears in his own mind and gradually affects his every move.
In search of Evelyn Parker, the source provider of the biochip, V discovers that Voodoo Boys in Pacifica have involved in this. After helping the Voodoo Boys Eliminate Their Rival, the Animals, the leader of Voodoo Boys, Brigitte, explained what really happened to V.
Bridget wants to obtain the biochip and extract Johnny Silverhand’s memories of his ex-girlfriend Alt Cunningham, who created the Soulkiller program. Hoping to get rid of Johnny with Alt’s help, V entered The Net (Cyberspace).
By searching Johnny Silverhand’s year 2013 memories, V learns that Alt's Body is Long Dead, while her consciousness is hiding in Arasaka’s subnet, becoming a cyberspace AI in the Net. To strip Johnny Silverhand’s consciousness from V’s body, V must access to the heavily fortified Mikoshi located in Arasaka Tower, which is the only way.
Takemura had mentioned another name to V – Anders Hellman. He was the chief bio-engineer of Arasaka, and the Relic biochip was done under his supervision. In order to get more information, V decided to find out Hellman.
Rogue in the year 2077 is still in a great position within the Night City, she is the owner of the Afterlife Bar and the top fixer in the city. Rogue recommended Panam Palmer to V, saying that Panam could be a great help.
As expected, Panam and her family-like Aldecaldos Nomad Tribe helped V get plenty of first-hand information from captured Hellman.
According to Takemura’s plan, the best option is to get close to Yorinobu’s sister, Hanako Arasaka, and tell her the truth. Using the Grand Matsuri Parade as a cover, V and Takemura tried to bring Hanako Arasaka away from the scene.
Hanako had already become suspicious of what Yorinobu had done. After exchanging ideas, Hanako Decided to Join Forces with V to assist him in accessing the Mikoshi in Arasaka Tower.
At dawn before the final battle, V came to the rooftop balcony, where Jackie had made his big decision: to live as a legend of Night City.
This time, it was time for V to Make a Choice. With Johnny Silverhand standing in front, V’s decision will lead to different endings of the game.
Whatever decision it is, on the way to the end, V will encounter the strongest enemy, Adam Smasher. V will also enter the Mikoshi in Arasaka Tower. Inside the Mikoshi, V can choose whether to retain the consciousness of V, or to retain the consciousness of Johnny Silverhand. Different choices will lead to different endings directly.
No matter which ending V chose, V only has a few months left to live.
(Option: Think trusting Arasaka’s risky, but worth it.)
Take Hellman’s car to Arasaka Villa, then enter Arasaka Tower with Hanako Arasaka, and learn that it turns out Saburo Arasaka is not actually dead, his digital consciousness has been preserved. Saburo Arasaka shows up in Arasaka Board Meeting and immediately quells the commotion. After V defeats Adam Smasher, he successfully accesses the Mikoshi. Yorinobu Arasaka’s body is completely taken over by his father’s consciousness.
Waking up in a Medical Space Station, V sees Saburo Arasaka “resurrected” in the body of Yorinobu Arasaka on TV. An agreement is offered to V, giving up the body to preserve the digital consciousness, or return to earth and live the rest 6 months of life, it’s a difficult choice for V…
(Option: Gonna ask Panam for help)
Panam and Aldecaldos tribe once again reached out to V. With the invincible Battle Tank Basilisk, V and Panam fought a way into the Arasaka Tower. In the final duel with Adam Smasher, Saul, the tribe leader, was killed.
On the Petrochem Dam above Night City, V and Panam said goodbye to the city. They drove off and disappeared into the sandstorm.
(Optional: Think you and Rogue should go)
Controlled by Johnny Silverhand’s consciousness, V and Rogue once again arrived at Arasaka Tower, and this time even Adam Smasher was no match for Johnny.
V woke up in a Luxury Penthouse Apartment. After defeating the Arasaka Corp., V not only gained fame and fortune, but also realized he must leave his name in history, even there is only a couple of months left. V Pilots a Spaceship to the space city “Crystal Palace” in the universe, opening a new chapter in his adventures.
(Option: Gonna ask Panam for help, or Think you and Rogue should go. Then choose to keep Silverhand’s consciousness in the Mikoshi.)
Johnny Silverhand survived occupying V’s body, but he didn’t seem to be as happy as he thought he was. Johnny went to Night City Cemetery to say goodbye to V and Rogue before taking the bus alone and left Night City quietly.
In addition to the four main endings mentioned above, V can also choose to commit suicide on the rooftop and the story will end straight away.
Also, if V makes a series of correct decisions related to the Silverhand as the main story progresses. After the choice on the rooftop appears, wait about five minutes and the corresponding option will appear to advance. In this ending, V assaults the Arasaka Tower and faces powerful enemies alone. This battle can not be saved, if V dies, the story ends directly. At the end of the battle, V will enter either ending 3, “Path of Glory” or ending 4, “In the Mirror”, depending on your choice.
