Let's Meet the Cast
Some time ago we were invited to Night City, where we had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with the film's director, Neo Arasaka, and many of the film's stars, bringing you first-hand information about Cyberpunk 2077 from the movie set and revealing the exciting moments behind the scenes.
(This story is an unofficial fictitious spin-off work of the Cyberpunk 2077 game)
I have met the director of Cyberpunk 2077, Arasaka Neo, several times, and was invited to visit Night City, where Cyberpunk 2077 was filmed, for an exclusive interview. During the week-long interview, we had the opportunity to go on set and record the daily work and life of the stars and people behind the scenes. Here are our first-hand stories from the set.
Arasaka Neo has shown his extraordinary creativity and imagination in “Matrix Earth 1999”, and has become one of the world’s most famous directors. This time, Cyberpunk 2077, invested by his father Saburo Arasaka, took eight years to complete and is set in Night City, home of the American division of Arasaka Corporation.
As a director, Arasaka Neo never compromises. From the story outline, casting, to costumes, sets and props, he had to do everything himself. In order to achieve the best effect, he rented the Unused Arasaka Warehouse from his father to park the giant Matsuri Floats which were redesigned and redone several times. It was this spirit that made the Matsuri Floats Parade scene a classic.
Another director would never put the production team into the Fly-Filled Junkyard for ten hours for “realistic reproduction”, but his name is Arasaka Neo. I don’t know how many crew members have left for this reason, but Neo only said: “Time will let them understand everything”.
“Reputation is not a commendation from the audience, but a test set for you to go to the next level.” — Johnny Silverhand
During the interview, we interviewed many main actors of Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most memorable being Johnny Silverhand. His collaboration with Director Arasaka Neo began in “Matrix Earth 1999”. Like Director Neo, Johnny always put performance before his own safety. During the shooting process of Cyberpunk 2077, in order to be authentic in the Stabbing Scene, Johnny Silverhand was repeatedly stabbed 77 times.
As a supporting actor with a small role, Goro Takemura grasps every opportunity to present the audience with the most exciting performance. In the Highway Car Chase Scene, Takemura, who refused to use a stunt, caught fire in a sudden explosion. Luckily, he was rescued in time and only lost some of his prosthetic parts.
Panam Palmer’s screen debut is such a globally watched production and she takes it seriously. I remember one night, after finishing the last shot, she came to the next day’s action scene alone, repeatedly practicing Rocket Launching Skills, and only after shooting down several spare floating ships, she left satisfied, ignoring the curses of the prop team.
The success of Panam is based on her personal efforts, but of course also without the support of the Aldecaldos Studio. It is reported the Battle Tank Basilisk and military equipment that appear in the film are all Provided by Aldecaldos Studio.
In order to polish the lines and narratives, V, Johnny Silverhand, Rogue, Panam, Misty, and other key actors always Get Together in the Balcony for discussion. Well, the next news I’m going to announce is definitely an exclusive headline: they finally came to the conclusion that each actor’s idea will be shot once independently, and the story’s ending will be decided purely by the audiences.
Saburo Arasaka has connections in every corner of Night City, and this time he gave his all to help his son, our director. So Arasaka Neo gets whatever he wants. Night City government also generously provides permissions for many locations for the film to shoot in.
Cyberpunk 2077 is like a publicity film for Night City, regardless of the tightly regulated Power Plants, Petrocham Dam, or the solemn Columbarium, The Chapel in Pacifica, they all became part of the film.
What amazes me the most is that Saburo Arasaka even Managed to Get a Spaceship for his son, which brings the visual effects of Cyberpunk 2077 to a new level.
Finally, I’d like to tell you about the lives of the actors behind the scenes of the film.
Judy Alvarez was Addicted to Brain Dance all day during the shooting process, she didn’t do any interview with me at all.
Johnny Silverhand and Rogue enjoyed their lives, they spent free hours Motorcycling in the Streets, and of course, chased by NCPD.
Our Makeup Artist Finn “Fingers” Gerstatt came from Jig-Jig Street. His make-up skills are absolutely top-notch, and he can also help you repair rusty cybernetic prostheses. By the way, Takemura got his help after the accident.
Although many extras do not have lines, they do Boxing and Fitness Trainings under Neo’s instructions.
The most exciting thing in these days was the guest stars Saburo Arasaka and Hideo Kojima. But I can’t help to notice Yorinobu Arasaka’s upset face following the steps of his father Saburo. Guess billionaires has their own problems.
