The Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum is located in the Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 area and was opened by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 1994 as a science and technology museum for young people. The museum displays a large number of cutting-edge technology products produced by Mitsubishi, covering different fields such as aerospace, marine, transportation, and environmental energy.
From trying to fly to traveling in space, it took mankind just 60 years. Visitors can get a close look at the cabin and engines of the Mini Jetliner MRJ (Mitsubishi Regional Jet) and experience simulated flight inside the cockpit, and experience the progress of technology through LE-7 and LE-7A Rocket Engines.
In 1989, the Manned Submersible Deepsea 6500, manufactured by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, was successfully launched in Kobe, equipped with cameras and sonar system, and robot arms capable of performing sophisticated underwater operations.
