Gateway of Yokohama Port
Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal is a world-renowned international cruise terminal and the gateway to the Port of Yokohama. Inside the Osanbashi Pier, there is an immigration lobby, lounge and shopping area, and a rooftop observation deck with a full view of Yokohama Port and Minato Mirai 21.
Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal, or Osanbashi Pier 大さん橋, is one of the world’s leading international cruise terminals. It is located northwest of Yamashita Park, where many Japanese Domestic and International Cruise Ship Lines converge, and is now the gateway to Yokohama Port.
There is a huge Rooftop Plaza upon the Osanbashi Pier, and since the Osanbashi Pier looks like a whale exposed to the sea, people call this open-air viewing platform The Back of the Whale.
Standing on the rooftop plaza, you can see the Yokohama Marine Tower, the cruise ship Hikawa Maru, and the Yokohama Bay Bridge, and it is also a great place to overlook the core area of the Minato Mirai 21.
The Future City by Tokyo Bay
Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 is a coastal urban area on the shores of Tokyo Bay in Yokohama City, which has been under construction since 1983. Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 combines sightseeing and entertainment, modern business, convention, exhibition, history and culture, bringing the concept of a future city to life.
Inside the Osanbashi Pier, there are Immigration Hall, a Gathering Hall, shopping and rest areas where international passengers arriving by cruise ships can easily start their pleasant journey to Yokohama.
