Central Urban Hub of Rome
Piazza Venezia is located in the heart of Rome, where many of the city's main arteries converge, making it a true hub of the city. Piazza Venezia is surrounded by numerous museums, churches, and monuments, the most notable of which is the Vittoriano, located on the south side of the square.
Located in the heart of Rome, Piazza Venezia is 150 meters long and 70 meters wide, where many of the city’s main thoroughfares, such as Via del Corso, converge, making it a Urban Hub.
The square is named after the Palazzo Venezia on the west side and is surrounded by numerous museums, churches and historical monuments. From Piazza Venezia, you easily walk to famous tourist attractions such as The Colosseum, The Roman Forum, The Pantheon, Piazza Navona, etc.
At the end of the 19th century, to commemorate the unification of Italy, the Vittoriano, or the Victor Emmanuel II National Monument (Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II), was built at the southern end of Piazza Venezia. Made of white marble, the Vittoriano is a perfect viewpoint for Overlooking Piazza Venezia.
The Unification of Italy
The Victor Emmanuel II National Monument, or the Vittoriano was built to commemorate the unification of Italy and to honor King Emmanuel II. Located at the southern end of Piazza Venezia in Rome, the monument is made of white marble and has a viewing platform at its top.
