The Port of Osaka is one of the five major ports in Japan and is divided into several areas, including the North Port, Inner Port, and South Port, which are connected by major bridges such as the Tempozan Bridge and Minato Bridge. The Port of Osaka is home to sightseeing facilities such as the Kaiyukan and Universal Studios Japan, as well as commercial centers such as the Tempozan Marketplace.

When people think of Osaka, the first things that come to mind are Osaka Castle, local cuisine, and the city’s commercial districts such as Dotonbori, Shinsekai, and Umeda, always overlooking the fact that Osaka is actually a port city as well.

The Port of Osaka is an important International Trade Port in Japan, along with Port of Tokyo, Port of Yokohama, Port of Kobe and the Port of Nagoya as the five major ports in Japan. The port of Osaka is mostly reclaimed and is divided into several areas, including the North Port, Inner Port and South Port, which are connected by major transportation hubs such as the Tempozan Bridge and the Minato Bridge.

The Port District of Osaka is home to famous tourist attractions such as Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and Universal Studios Japan (USJ). There are Cruise Ship Docks, so many tourists choose to take the ship to Osaka and get a glimpse of Osaka Port on the way.

In 2018, Osaka was hit by Jebi, the strongest typhoon in 25 years, and the 100-meter diameter Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel became a huge windmill by the strong wind.

Tempozan Marketplace of Osaka Port is a huge shopping complex, and the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel next to it is a symbol of Osaka Port. The 112.5 meters high Ferris wheel is one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world, and you can see the whole Osaka Port from inside the passenger car.
