Kampung Gnan's Faith Center
The Sultan Mosque in Singapore was founded in 1824 and the yellow domed building in the Indo-Saracenic style today was rebuilt for its centenary. The Muslims in the Kampong Glam area regard the Sultan Mosque as the center of their faith.
When Sir Raffles landed by the Singapore River two hundred years ago, he acquired land from the local sultan and funded the construction of a mosque in today’s Kampong Glam area, which is known as the Sultan Mosque (Masjid Sultan) of Singapore.
The Sultan Mosque was originally built in 1824 and during the commemoration 100 years later, the management decided to rebuild the mosque. The Sultan Mosque is constructed in the Indo-Saracenic style and has the iconic Yellow Onion Shaped Dome, along with several minarets and arched windows and doors.

There is a Spacious Main Hall inside the Muslim Church. The Muslims in the Kampong Glam area consider this place as the center of their faith, and they regularly walk into the mosque every day to perform their devotional prayers.
During Ramadan, an important Islamic holiday, Muslims set up Ramadan Bazaar outside the mosque, on Masjid Street, and other places. Whether you are a Muslim or a tourist, you will be warmly welcomed here and you can enjoy the unique Muslim snacks and food.
