Inari is the generic name for the god of grain and food in Japanese mythology, and since the Middle Ages, foxes have been regarded as the messengers of the god Inari. Inari, the god of abundance, is revered in the industrial and commercial worlds as a symbol of wealth. It is currently the largest shrine of its kind in Japan.
