Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of the three great warriors of Japan, succeeded Oda Nobunaga and established the politically unified Toyotomi regime. During his time in power, he strengthened the samurai class through policies such as the Taiko Jikachi and the Order of the Sword, and strengthened the basis of his rule. In his later years, he waged the Korean War and died at the end of the war.
