The best-preserved ones are the Five Octagonal Brick Pagodas, all of which were built in the Jin Dynasty, 900 years ago, and the five tomb pagodas are located on the site of the famous Jin Dynasty temple, the Great Yansheng Temple 大延圣寺.
The Buddhist culture of Yinshan reached its peak in the Jin Dynasty, so many monks came here to practice Buddhism. These five pagodas were built to commemorate the five monks led by the Great Zen Master Fojue. The temple was repeatedly repaired in the Ming Dynasty, and Zhu Qizhen, the Ming Emperor, granted the temple name Fahua Temple 法华寺. Unfortunately, the temple buildings were demolished one after another during the battles against invading Japanese army.
